Scan it.
It files itself.
Point your iPhone at a letter, an invoice, a contract. Cabinet Scan reads it, gives it a real name, writes a short summary, and files it into the right folder — by who it's from and what it's about. Over time it also builds a private picture of your paperwork you can ask questions about, and flags what needs you this week.

Your documents, your history and your whole life picture stay on your iPhone. Turn on AI analysis and only the text of one document at a time reaches a service that keeps no account and no memory of it.
From paper to filed, in seconds
Multi-page scanning with edge detection and perspective correction. On-device text recognition. A file name pulled from the document itself — sender, type, date — and a plain-language summary of what it actually says.
- Auto-filed into Area / Subject folders (Insurance / Allianz, Housing / Lindenstraße 12 …), visible in the Files app
- A deadline in the document becomes a to-do with a reminder — the very first scan is already useful
- Import a stack of PDFs at once and it names and files the whole batch unattended, then shows you a summary
- Search everything — names, summaries and the full recognised text of every document
- Keep it in your app folder, or point it at a folder inside iCloud Drive or Google Drive to sync
- Write Note — type a quick note; it's filed like everything else and stays editable, in the app or in the Files app; Photo Notes — snap a whiteboard and get a structured transcription

Every document, connected — the LifeGraph
Your LifeGraph is one connected picture of everything your documents mention — the people, organisations, accounts, policies, vehicles, obligations and dates — merged so that two letters about the same landlord become one landlord, and a premium that changed becomes a flagged change.
The graph is assembled and stored on your device and never leaves it — the analysis service only ever sees one document at a time and never the assembled whole. Explore it as a map, tap any node to jump to the document behind it, and it opens focused on whatever your most recent document changed.
A “Life picture” score shows how complete your records are and names the few documents worth adding next — so it's obvious what the app can do for you, and what it can't yet.
A dashboard for your actual life
One screen that reads your LifeGraph back to you — current home, employer, vehicles, policies, loans, subscriptions, dependents — with a “This week” card that gathers everything dated in one place: to-dos, renewals, and the notice-period cut-offs where you have to cancel now to avoid another year.
It also totals what you're paying across every contract, keeps your IBANs and policy numbers a tap from copy, and flags contradictions between documents. A “What changed” feed narrates new paperwork in plain words — home insurance €820 → €960, renews 30 November — and the home screen's short “For you” list surfaces the few things that need you, without your having to look.
Ask your documents. Or ask an expert.
Type a question — “who is my landlord?”, “what's due this month?”, “which documents mention Vonovia?” — and get an answer grounded in your own files, with tappable citations back to the source.
Switch to one of 17 domain experts — Tax, Housing, Insurance, Legal, Health, Finance, Mobility and more. Each answers in the context of your data, can search the web for current rules and rates, and is scoped to your country, so the forms, authorities and deadlines are the right ones. Turn any answer into a dated to-do with one tap.
Local-first. Nothing leaves your device unless you turn it on.
By default every scan, your history, your to-dos and your entire LifeGraph live in the app's own storage on your iPhone — file-protected, left out of backups, no account, nothing uploaded. Two optional switches change that: AI analysis and Cloud Sync.
Local-first by default
Scanning, text recognition, naming, the key-facts card, filing and the whole LifeGraph run entirely on your device with no network. The app works fully offline.
Nothing is kept, if you opt in
Turn on “AI analysis” and only the recognised text of one document at a time is sent — for a better name, summary and graph fragment. No account, no database; each request is handled on its own and never stored or used to train models. Only brief, content-free load logs are kept. The picture of your life stays on your phone.
Cloud Sync is optional
Want your documents on your other devices and the web? Turn on Cloud Sync and create an account. Your files are then backed up to private storage in the EU, readable only by you, and you can wipe the account — and everything in it — from Settings. Leave it off and there's no account at all.
No trackers, ever
No advertising, no third-party trackers, no cross-app tracking, no analytics SDK — with or without the optional switches on.
You hold the data — and the delete key
Export everything as one zip — every PDF in its folders, the LifeGraph as JSON, a readable summary — and keep your own copy. Or erase everything on the device in a couple of taps: documents, history, LifeGraph, to-dos. Files you synced to iCloud Drive or Google Drive stay where you put them.
Three steps
- 1
Capture
Scan, import a PDF, snap a whiteboard, or type a note.
- 2
Review
Check the proposed name and summary. Adjust anything. Save.
- 3
Forget about it
It's filed, searchable, and folded into your LifeGraph, Dashboard and Ask.
Questions
Does anything leave my phone?
Not by default. Scanning, OCR, naming, filing and the LifeGraph all run on-device with no account. Two optional switches change that: AI analysis sends the recognised text of a document — one at a time, never the page images — to the analysis service for a better name, summary and graph fragment (Photo Notes is the exception: it sends the photo you take). Cloud Sync backs your documents up to a private account so they reach your other devices.
What is Cloud Sync?
An optional account (email + password) that backs your documents, their details and your LifeGraph up to private storage — the files in the EU, readable only by you — so they sync across your devices and a web app. Off by default; the app is fully usable without it. Delete the account from Settings and everything stored in it is erased. Content isn't end-to-end encrypted in this version, so as the operator we can technically access what's stored to run the service.
Does the AI service remember my documents?
No. It has no accounts and no database. Each request is handled on its own and isn't stored, and the text isn't used to train models. The only thing it keeps is a brief, content-free load log — a random per-install ID, which feature ran and how much text — deleted within about 90 days. It processes your documents in isolation, and never sees the merged picture of your life, which is assembled and kept only on your iPhone.
What languages does it handle?
On-device text recognition covers English and German. With AI analysis on, documents in essentially any language are understood, and you can have summaries in English, German, or “match the document”.
What's the “country” setting for?
It tells the analysis and the Ask experts which country's rules, forms, authorities and deadlines apply to you — so a tax or housing question gets the right answer for where you live, not a generic one. It defaults to your device region.
Where are my files stored?
In the app's own folder in the Files app by default — you can browse the whole Area / Subject tree there. Point it at a folder inside iCloud Drive or Google Drive and finished PDFs are copied there automatically, using the system file provider (no extra sign-in in the app).
Can I get my data out?
Yes — “Export everything” in Settings builds a single zip on your device: every PDF in its Area / Subject folders, your LifeGraph as a JSON file, and a plain-text summary of every document and to-do. Save it to Files, AirDrop it, or mail it to yourself.
How do I get it — and is it free?
It's on the App Store: get Cabinet Scan. Scanning, importing PDFs and on-device naming are free forever — no ads, no account. AI analysis, Cloud Sync, the web app, the LifeGraph and Ask make up Cabinet Scan Plus, an optional subscription — €4.99/month or €39.99/year, with the first 3 months free.
Scan it once.
Never file it again.
